With three levels of study, we aim to offer something for every level of learning. The class descriptions can be found further down. In each class, our teachers provide an authentic experience that will touch on the four aspects of language learning which include oral and aural comprehension, reading, and writing. We encourage feedback and learning requests, so communicate your objectives on your registration form and with your teachers.

Register for this class if you are brand new and starting from scratch. In other words, you have not taken a German class with us before.
Designed for a total beginner, this course will study German vocabulary, grammar, and practice speaking, listening and reading. This course is suited towards students looking to develop into fluent speakers someday, or at least be able to express themselves in more thoughtful and profound ways.

This class is for students who have completed a 12-class (24 hour) Beginner’s class with us.
This course continues with the goals set out in the beginner’s German class students would have already experienced. In this continuation course, we complete the second half of the text book and continue to learn German vocabulary, grammar, and practice speaking, listening and reading.
This course is suited towards students looking to develop into fluent speakers someday, or at least be able to express themselves in more thoughtful and profound ways.

The intermediate class will study deeper concepts of grammar and more situational vocabulary. Students should feel more comfortable using German in everyday situations after completing this class.

Register for this class if you have already taken an Intermediate German course with us or have a solid foundation in reading and comprehension.
This class continues to delve deeper into concepts of grammar and situational vocabulary. Students should feel comfortable using German in everyday situations after completing this class.

This class is specifically designed to create a learning experience and environment that will continue to develop your ability to communicate orally, while also developing reading, listening and writing skills. To achieve this goal, the class will incorporate interactive activities and interesting and relevant conversation topics.

The Saskatchewan German Council is an accredited Goethe-Institut Examination Centre in Saskatchewan! The certified examiners at the Saskatoon centre will be able to test for German language proficiency level A1 Fit, A1 & A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
All exams will be administered in Saskatoon.

We offer classes on Zoom, so join in from where ever. We will offer in person opportunities to meet and interact in the Regina area. Make sure to check out Deutchtreff, an all-levels German speaking opportunity held on the third Friday of the month. Other events, such as Lantern Walk and Christkindlmarkt will be announced in class.
For out-of-the-province students please note that our classes are expressed in Saskatchewan time, which can vary between Central time zone during Nov-Mar and Mountain time zone during Mar-Nov.
goethe-institut A1 & A2 Exams
Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
Our class materials are CEFR alligned. This is an international standard for describing language ability. It describes language ability on a six-point scale, from A1 for beginners, up to C2 for those who have mastered a language.
Do you need to prove your German language skills for work, immigration or school? A certificate from the Goethe-Institut is internationally recognized by employers and schools. It is proof of your German language skills and is a career booster!
Prepare and learn with us for your A1 or A2 exam. You can take your Goethe-Institute exam right here in Saskatchewan.
TUITION & REGISTRATION
Courses are once weekly, for 2 hours at a time, for a 12 week semester. In other words, our courses are designed to be 24 hours. The tuition for one semester is $190 CAD per student. Textbooks are at an additional cost.
